Nearby services

 

There are Post Office facilities in the nearby towns of Gorebridge, Dalkeith and Penicuik. Bonnyrigg has a Post Office facility open on Mondays, 11am to 3pm.

 

There is still a bank in Bonnyrigg and a full range of banks in Dalkeith.

 

There are three doctors surgeries within a single complex at Bonnyrigg, and a dental surgery, and another doctor's surgery at Gorebridge.

 

There are schools at nearby Rosewell, Bonnyrigg, Middleton and Gorebridge. There is a creche facility at nearby Temple.

 

There is a large Tescos a few miles away on the A7 near Eskbank and a large Morrisons and Lidl (now the biggest store in Scotland) in Dalkeith with smaller CoOp supermarkets in both Bonnyrigg and Gorebridge.

 

Bonnyrigg has a wide selection of take-away outlets and a few restaurants/bars such as the Beetroot Bar and Grill and Gigi's. Lasswade has two restaurants (the Papermill and Luci's) and a bistro pub (the Laird and Dog Inn). The Sun Inn on the A7 is another bistro pub fairly nearby. Both Inns have accomodation rooms.

 

Dalhousie Castle and Melville Castle nearby both offer various dining, stay and event hosting options. The recently completed Rosebery Steading and the also nearby Arniston House can both offer wedding and events facilities.

 

Bonnyrigg has a large sports facility including a swimming pool at the Lasswade Leisure Centre which also includes a public library. There is a sports gym providing Pilates and spinning etc facilities at Hardengreen (see Premier Pilates & Fitness).
